WiP #13: Morning Pages
Pen to paper is the answer

It’s a day which promised snow here in England.
Unfortunately it ended in sleet and wet grass, but for a moment I was temporarily transported to Christmas. It was fun.
Okay, I’m trying to avoid the elephant in the room.
Where have I been? Why did I give up on this newsletter?
And what do I want now?
Well a lot has happened to me since checks when I last sent…crikey May 22 2023. I became so focused on client work I stopped prioritising trying to help you.
Not that exciting really, is it? Hopefully a lot of exciting stuff happened at your end.
Anyway a few months back I set out to change all of that.
I returned to regular posting on Linkedin and I’m also starting a new project.
It’s to do with journaling.
Any client I work with on personal branding and copywriting must agree to a regular journal practice if they sign up to work with me.
It can be a content creation superpower.
If you read regularly for input. Journal for output.
You will create such a brilliant relationship with yourself and be far more connected to your taste.
Anyway, like everything in life it feels difficult to get started.
It was only when I came across Julia Cameron and her incredible book ‘The Artists Way’ did I find a simple journaling practice.
It is of course ‘Morning Pages’:
“Morning Pages are three pages of longhand, stream of consciousness writing,
done first thing in the morning. There is no wrong way to do Morning Pages–
they are not high art. They are not even “writing.” They are about
anything and everything that crosses your mind– and they are for your eyes
only. Morning Pages provoke, clarify, comfort, cajole, prioritize and
synchronize the day at hand. Do not over-think Morning Pages: just put
three pages of anything on the page...and then do three more pages tomorrow.”
I’m on a mission to bring the transformative power of journaling to the masses.
If you’re ready to build a deeper connection with yourself and unlock your creative potential, join me on this journey. My new newsletter will launch soon, delivering a daily journaling prompt straight to your inbox to help you build and sustain your practice.

Let’s do this together.
